Meet the Team
Ellen Muskin, President and Designated Broker, opened Muskin Commercial in February 2011, after having spent more than 25 years actively involved in the sales, brokerage and analyses of multifamily properties in Austin area markets. Prior experience includes 12 years with Hendricks-Berkadia (fka Hendricks & Partners), a national Multifamily Investment Banking Firm where Ellen became a valued Partner, and she served for more than a decade as head of Commercial Industrial Properties Company multifamily brokerage division (now known as NAI/REOC – Austin). Ellen started her career in commercial real estate as co-owner of EquiNomics, a local start-up brokerage firm specializing in apartment communities creating one of the first apartment databases in Austin. She is currently involved in various real estate and charitable organizations. She sits on the Board of Directors of Austin Commercial Real Estate Society (ACRES). (Texas Real Estate License #334236)
Ellen attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communications (1980). She has resided in Austin since 1976, is married to a custom homebuilder and has two daughters. Her interests include gardening, entertaining, live music and practicing random acts of kindness.
Daniel Elam, Senior Associate, has a diverse background in working with multifamily properties. Prior to joining Muskin Commercial, Daniel worked with Campus Advantage, a student housing company based in Austin, Texas and The Medve Group, an Investment firm specializing in multifamily assets headquartered in Dallas, Texas. During Daniel’s tenure, his responsibilities included acquisitions, asset management, business development, financial analyses and general management. Daniel’s professional and community involvement include the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Austin Young Chamber of Commerce, JCAA Leadership Development Program and Hill Country Conservancy. Daniel graduated from Colorado State University with a double major in Finance and Real Estate (2006). He enjoys the outdoors, music, travel and exploring various local restaurants throughout Austin.
Curtis E. Gardner, Marketing Manager, joined Muskin Commercial in 2017 and is responsible for all marketing design, production, and distribution. He directs marketing campaigns, website content management/maintenance, handles transaction coordination and operations for the company. Prior to joining Muskin Commercial, Curtis owned and operated a website and graphic design consulting firm. Also, having worked with AT&T Mobility as a project manager, Curtis has experience with both the waterfall and SCRUM project management methodologies. He graduated from ACC in 2014 with an Associates degree in Web and Interactive Design. When not working on design projects, Curtis can be found cooking, gardening, hiking the greenbelt, or watching and discussing films.
